Teambuilding in Vegas...

In mid-July, our department took a teambuilding trip to Vegas. I hadn't planned to go at first because it was so far away and so incredibly hot, but I couldn't pass up two paid days in Vegas. We all stayed at the Excaliber, which was a great place to stay for the price point. Gil also tagged along with his friend Ryan so that he'd be close by in case of emergency. They stayed at New York New York...not too far away.

We did lots of fun teambuilding activities and really had a great time. It was nice to see everyone out of the office environment. On the last night, Gil took me to see Zumanity, a Cirque Du Soleil show at NY NY. They were wonderful seats, right in the front on the second row. Gil got pulled up on stage at one point, which was soooo funny! Sad to say, that was my last long-distance trip for a while...But it was a good one. I was glad that I went.

You know you're VERY preggo when...

  1. You waddle everywhere.
  2. Your fanny is growing at the same rate as your belly.
  3. You can't reach your toes to paint them. (Good thing my hubby gives good pedicures!)
  4. Your bladder is the size of a pea.
  5. The silliest things make you want to cry (i.e., overcooking the porkchops).
  6. You absolutely dread getting on the scale at the doctor's office.
  7. You love spending your day staring at your squirming belly.
  8. You're pretty darn tired all day from the mid-night trips to the bathroom.
  9. Shaving your legs becomes a huge pain in the rear.
  10. You're dying to get everything in the baby's room set up and perfectly organized.
  11. Reality is beginning to sink in -- I'm about to be a mommy!
  12. Your wedding ring is so tight that it's now a part of your body.
  13. People look directly at your tummy instead of at your face.
  14. Heart burn is your new best friend.
  15. You would do anything for a back massage.
  16. You can't wait to meet the little person inside of you!

Hunter in 3D!

At 29 weeks, Gil and I decided to get a 3D/4D ultrasound. The package included at 10-minute DVD of 2D, 3D, and 4D segments set to lullaby music. It's precious. We also got five printed pictures to take home with us. It was definitely worth it!

Here are four of the pictures scanned in together. The two on the top and the one of the bottom left are of Hunter's face. It's hard to see him because my placenta is covering part of his face. The picture on the bottom right is of Hunter's boy parts. Haha.

Cow Appreciation Day 2009!

July 10th -- Only the best day of the year! COW APPRECIATION DAY! Go to Chick-Fil-A dressed as a cow and get a free combo. It was my third year to be a cow. The first year, we had five cows; the second year, we had 11 cows; and this year, we had 18 cows! Maybe next year we'll have 30 cows!

We have gone to the same Chick-Fil-A for all three years, so the manager always expects us. This year, he reserved about five tables for the "Southwest Airlines herd of cows." Not only did we get free combos, but we got free milkshakes and little stuffed cows too. We had so much fun!

The Magical World of Disney!

Gil and I made it to Orlando for the Fourth of July weekend -- barely! I got jumpseat, and Gil got the very last seat on the plane. I guess we were meant to go. It was a great trip! Since Gil is from Florida, we got to see a lot of his family.

On Friday, we randomly decided to go to Disney World to the Magic Kingdom. We rode as many rides as a preggo person could ride. Eventhough it was scorching hot, I had a blast. It was extra special because of the holiday. They put on a gorgeous fireworks display above the castle at nightfall. I can't wait to go back one day with Hunter!

Saturday was great too. Gil, his sister, his dad, and I all met up at a restaurant on Cocoa Beach, where Gil and I got married. I got to swim a little bit...I love the beach! Then we went over to Gil's aunt and uncle's house for some hamburgers and hotdogs. It was such a great trip! Here are some pics...

On the tram from the parking lot...getting sooo excited! Notice the guy biting his nails in the background. lol.
We made it! The Magic Kingdom!
And we were greeted by Chip and Dale...
